1. Install Android SDK on pc / laptop then run SDK manager, there'll be a options, whatever you want to install but they certainly need to install USB Driver Google (Available packages> Third party Add-Ons> Google Inc.. Add-Ons> Google Usb Driver package , revision 4)
2. Plug Nexus S into your PC / laptop use its data cable (let it install its own driver)
3. Rename Clockwork Image Recovery to recovery.img (it'll be easy) then Copy to the Tools folder where you installed the SDK earlier
(in my place, C / Program Files (x86) -Android-android-sdk-windows/tools)
* root + unlock bootloader (all data is lost, so backup first anyway)
- Turn off NS
- Go to bootloader (volume up + power)
- Install PDAnet, select the samsung then proceed
- Go to command prompt
- type c: /> cd / Program Files (x86) / Android / android-sdk-windows / tools (this depends where you did install the SDK)
- Next type "fastboot oem unlock" (without the quotes)
- Will there be a choice Unlock boot loader select YES (up and down using the volume, the action using the power) lost all data
- If successful later in the bootloaders it is written "lock state - Unlocked"
- Turn back the NS, then copy the superuser to NS then turn off again
- Go to bootloader again
- use the command prompt again, type c: /> cd / Program Files (x86) -Android-android-sdk-windows/tools
- If so, type "boot fastboot recovery.img" (without the quotes)
- Then go to CWM orange color
- Use the volume buttons for up and down select install zip file from sdcard (the action is to use power), select 'choose zip from sdcard', then select a superuser that copied
- Go back then reboot
- DONE ...
* Root (without unlocking the bootloader)
- Steps 1,2,3 above should've done
- copy superuser to NS then switch it off, go intothe bootloader (volume up + power)
- Install PDAnet, select the samsung then proceed
- Use a command prompt again, type c: /> cd /Program Files (x86) / Android /android-sdk-windows / tools
- If already, type "boot fastboot recovery.img(without the quotes)
- Then go to CWM orange color
- Use the volume buttons for up and down select'install zip from sdcard' (the action is using power),select 'choose zip from sdcard' then select thesuperuser that copied
- Go back then reboot
- DONE ...

I download RomManager.apk from the link that you provided. Would you advise what to do next, please? Thanks.
I mean rename that file to "recovery.img"
ReplyDeleteand than copy file that renamed to folder in your windows folder, generally it's in program files folder which u usually install a program to windows.
RomManager need to run in rooted device, so if you want to install that apk, you need to rooting your device first
